Alumnae News |
On Thursday 9 January, the annual Modern Languages Society Dinner was held at school. There were around 50 sixth form students in attendance from both St Helen's and Abingdon School. We were delighted to welcome alumna Claire Harbour, who left St Helen's in 1981, as a guest speaker online to kick start the evening.
On leaving school, Claire went to Cambridge University to study languages and left speaking five languages fluently. She then had a fascinating and varied career, which included working for luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Aquascutum and Omega. Her different roles have taken her to 17 countries across four continents, and she now speaks eight languages. Over time, her career has shifted to headhunting, executive coaching and change management. Today she is an executive coach, who runs her own consultancy company.
On finishing her talk, she told her audience that she was about to move to Kenya for her role with Stanford Seed, an organisation which supports business founders by equipping them to build thriving enterprises and robust communities. We wish Claire the best with her role in Kenya and thank her for a fascinating talk. We look forward to welcoming her back to school in person at some time in the future!
