Actor, writer and producer Catherine Chalk (Class of 2015) founded her own production company in 2024. Called ChalkYard Productions, the company produces screen and stage productions with an emphasis on female-centric stories made by female-identifying creatives.

'Heaven Has No Rage’, an original new musical by Catherine Chalk & Mackenzie Larsen, will be premiering at The Other Palace theatre in London in October 2025. It is an ambitious production, created by an all-female creative team, something of a rarity in the theatre industry! Catherine and her team are currently seeking supporters & patrons to bring this production to life.

The show follows Marie and Aisling; best friends, bandmates, and new mothers. They have released a hit song together; their children are growing up happy and healthy and everything is going (a little too) well. But when Marie finds herself trapped in an alternate timeline in which her daughter doesn’t exist, she risks everything she has to find her way back. What begins as a seemingly ordinary tale of female friendship and overcoming the odds, quickly spirals into an alternate reality where echoes of another life slip through the cracks, the rumble of an earthquake draws nearer and nearer, and Marie is forced to face the truth that she has buried.

With music inspired by the likes of Brandi Carlile, Florence and the Machine, and Wet Leg, this female-driven story explores themes of friendship, motherhood, and the seldom acknowledged experiences of infertility, postnatal depression, and miscarriage.

ChalkYard Productions’s founder Catherine feels passionately about getting more stories for women, by women, onto UK stages. If you would like to learn more about this venture and how you can support, please visit heavenhasnorage.com.

Catherine has a busy schedule and will be starring in ‘Little Women’ at the Oxford Playhouse at the end of May. We wish Catherine the best of luck with her upcoming production in Oxford and her new musical in the autumn.
