Glory, honour, praise and blessing, happy hearts and voices bring
With triumphant hosts of Heaven, Praise the incarnate Saviour-King
For His grace in holy Katharine, called by Him to be His bride
For Him facing death and torture, one with Him, the Crucified.
As thy story, Blessed Patron, Joyfully we sing today
Valiant martyr, royal maiden, Katharine, for thy children pray
In her home in Alexandria, Maiden Katharine grew to fame,
Known for beauty and for wisdom, high position, noble name;
Diligent in deepest studies, loving books from early youth,
Skilled indeed in earthly science, ignorant of Christian truth.
As thy story, Blessed Patron, Joyfully we sing today
Valiant martyr, royal maiden, Katharine, for thy children pray
Then in vision, Princess Katharine saw the Bridegroom of her choice,
Recognised His claim upon her, knew his Will and heard His voice;
Guided by the Holy Spirit, aided by our Lady’s prayer,
Sought baptismal grace and cleansing, Christian life and faith to share.
As thy story, Blessed Patron, Joyfully we sing today
Valiant martyr, royal maiden, Katharine, for thy children pray
May the children of St Katharine, who and where so e’er they be,
Share her faith, her love, her vision, courage, hope and purity.
So may Mary, blessed Mother, who such grace for Katharine won,
Be made glad by Katharine’s daughters and present then to her son.
As thy story, Blessed Patron, Joyfully we sing today
Valiant martyr, royal maiden, Katharine, for thy children pray
Martyr Katharine, Empress Helen, called in different ways to share.
Faith and hope that ventures all to give and all to date;
In these days of evil’s challenge, testing fires of gold or dross,
Hold us steadfast in our witness to the meaning of the cross.
One with us in faith and worship leaders in the royal way
Of the cause of Christ triumphant; Glorious patrons, for us pray!
