Our 2016 SHSK Society Garden Party saw over 200 alumnae and former staff joining us back at St Helen and St Katharine.
The day began with a traditional service in the Chapel of the Holy Cross, with everyone thoroughly enjoying singing the St Katharine's hymn. Current Chaplain, Rev Katie Windle was ably supported by former School Chaplain, Rev Pauline Seaman.
Glasses of Pimms followed accompanied by several shrieks of recognition as old friends reconnected, some after very many years.
The Headmistress addressed our guests, welcoming them all back to the school and introducing the new Kate Scheme, a mentoring project between our Alumnae and current pupils through we hope to encourage the creation of a productive and personal partnership which offers bespoke guidance and inspiration for our young women – a partnership that benefits both mentee and mentor.
A truly delicious lunch was served 'al fresco' by our wonderful Executive Chef, Olivier and his team, they really did us proud and it was greatly enjoyed by all.
In the afternoon there were tours of the school by our fantastic Prefect team and also saw an informal Chapel Choir reunion of our alumnae coming together under the expert guidance of former Director of Music, Mr Andrew Tillett, it was amazing to hear and they all had a wonderful time singing many of their old favourites.
