Dinner in Chapel (classes of 1960-1969)

It was another evening of delicious food and fond memories on Friday 19 May as we hosted our second dinner to celebrate the Chapel centenary. We were delighted to be joined by those who left St Helen's between 1960 and 1969, some of whom had not returned to the School for many years.  

The evening began with drinks and canapes in Old School Hall, accompanied by some delightful violin music from our own students. After a welcome address by Headmistress Rebecca Dougall the guests were then shown around the Benedict Building, our wonderful new Sixth form centre, before making their way to the beautifully dressed Chapel where they enjoyed catching up with old friends over a delicious three-course meal.  

Sitting at the heart of our community, we are celebrating the Chapel’s 100-year anniversary with a programme of alumnae dinners in the Chapel itself, which forms a memorable backdrop for an evening of celebrating and reminiscing with fellow alumnae and former staff from across the years.  

This second Chapel dinner clearly brought much joy and love to our guests, who were kind enough to share their thoughts of the evening with us:   

This is a big thank you for the lovely evening we had on Friday. Being with old friends in our original setting was a special treat. The dinner was lovely, and the new school premises very impressive.

I just wanted to say how much I my friends and I enjoyed the whole evening; it really was a very special experience. Thank you for looking after us so well!

I do so want to thank you and the team...for organising that wonderful event last night. A truly memorable occasion!
