On 1 October we were delighted to welcome back alumnae friends Marion and Norma, who left school in the 1950s and 1960s, for a Tour & Tea afternoon at St Helen's. Amongst other areas, the tour took in the art rooms (former dormitories), the archives, as well as the newer buildings, and ended with tea in the Refectory. We were all thrilled to find photos of both Marion and Norma mounted on the wall in the archives area within the library. Our guests also had an opportunity to chat to two of our sixth former students over tea to find out what life was like today at the school, as well as share their own experiences. It was wonderful hearing stories about St Helen's in the 1950s. We thank them both for joining us!
Our Tour and Tea afternoons are held once each term, and provide the opportunity for a personal tour of the school including a visit to the School Archives as well as a chance for tea and socialising in the Refectory. If you are interested in attending such a tour in the future, you can see dates of the upcoming Tour and Tea afternoons on the events page.
