We were delighted to welcome Old Girls to the St Kate’s Day celebrations at Smiths of Smithfield in London on 20 November. Thank you to all those who trekked out in freezing conditions for this annual Social. This year’s guests were mostly in the 19-40 age bracket, although we were especially excited to welcome the youngest member to ever join in the fun, baby Max, who was only a few weeks old! It is equally lovely to meet alumnae who attended St Helen’s in the 1970s and 1980s as well as those who attended St Helen’s in the past two decades. There was an enthusiastic turnout of over 40 guests plus five staff, including the new Head, Mrs Rollings, who was delighted to see many of those whom she had taught previously. Recent leavers had come up from their various universities to be Helkats united, and it was interesting to hear how many of the alumnae were flatmates of one another in London. It was an entertaining evening in a lively bar, where friends reunited, whilst other alumnae met for the first time. The shared experiences and sense of belonging to a very special community was palpable to see amongst all those who attended. We thank those who joined us for their company and support in marking a special day for our school and its community. Happy St Kate's Day!
