We are thrilled to share some exciting news. St Helen and St Katharine has been ranked top school in Abingdon in The Times Parent Power 2026 Schools’ Guide for the fifth year running. We have also secured a place among the top 5 girls’ schools in the Southeast for the fifth consecutive year and rank 54th among independent schools across the UK.
The Parent Power rankings assess schools nationwide based on academic performance and draw on schools’ results at GCSE and A level in summer 2025. At St Helen and St Katharine, 92.1% of GCSE grades were 9–7 and 87.5% of A level grades were A*–B.
We are also extremely proud to have been ranked among the top 20 school for sport in the UK in the School Sport Magazine’s top 200 sporting schools of 2025. St Helen and St Katharine also ranks top school for sport in Oxfordshire – and Abingdon – and the top 6 girls’ school for sport in the country.
Charlotte Barras, Director of Sport, said: “To be recognised among the top 20 schools for sport in the country is something we are extremely proud of. Our placing this year highlights the depth of opportunity available to St Helen’s students and the consistently high standards across our sports programme.”
St Helen and St Katharine has also recently been included in The Cricketer Schools Guide 2026 in recognition of our cricket achievements, including reaching four national finals in 2025 and securing a place among the UK’s top 20 girls’ schools for cricket for the third consecutive year.
