A level excellence and bright futures for St Helen and St Katharine students

We are delighted to celebrate an excellent set of A level results from the Class of 2026 (this year’s leavers), reflecting the strength and breadth of achievement across the year group. With 66% of grades awarded at A*–A and 90% at A*–B, the results are a fitting culmination to the hard work and determination of our students. 

Students excelled across the breadth of the curriculum, with notable success spanning STEM, languages and the creative subjects. Mathematics saw outstanding results, with 69% of grades at A*–A, including 43% at A*, while 100% of computer science grades were awarded at A*–A. Two thirds of grades across the Sciences and Modern Foreign Languages were awarded at A*–A, with the same proportion achieved in Music.  

Tate is among six students who are going on to study medicine, she achieved four A*’s and will be studying at Cambridge. Tate was incredibly happy with her results, “I’m really pleased with my results, very happy – smiles all round. I think me getting into Cambridge is entirely due to my teachers, all the teachers are so passionate about their subjects and their passion has transferred on to me. They pushed me in lots of different ways and prepared me to be able to do the exams and my interviews.” 

Alongside University applications, degree-level apprenticeships are well supported at St Helen’s. Jessica, who achieved three A*’s, is going to complete a KPMG Level 7 Apprenticeship in auditing. Jessica spoke highly on how St Helen’s had supported her to follow her ambitions, “School gave me the freedom to choose what to do and where to go, I didn’t take the classic route of going to university and having that freedom and support pushed me to getting the apprenticeship.” Her Mother Amanda added, “If she hadn’t been at this School it would’ve been a completely different story.” Jessica also achieved an A* in her EPQ – 100% of EPQ grades were awarded at A* or A, with 69% of students receiving A*. 

After achieving excellent results, Emily is going to Bath to study Sport and Exercise Science with professional placement or study abroad. Her Father James said, “Moving our daughter from the state sector to St Helen’s for Sixth Form was transformational. She embraced every opportunity the school offered, while the expert teaching, personalised support and aspirational ethos enabled her to truly reach her academic potential. We are incredibly proud - not only of her amazing results today, but also of the confident, well-rounded young person she has become.” 

Academic success at St Helen’s goes hand in hand with girls being supported to rise to the challenge of two busy A level years. Zoya, Mother of Sasha who is going to study History at the University of Birmingham said, “I’ve had the advantage that I’ve had two girls through here, [the School] is just fantastically supportive the whole way through.”  

Naomi, who recently won Gold as part of the GB Women’s eight at the Coupe de la Jeunesse Regatta, reflected on how her teachers supported her through both her rowing and academic studies. “I’m really happy with my results, not fully what I expected but a lot better. I think with rowing the School has really helped with being flexible with training times.” Naomi achieved A*, A*, A and is moving on to study Biological Sciences at Durham.  

Head, Sarah Rollings said, “The Class of 2026 are a remarkable group of young women. Their energy, abilities and ambition have been evident throughout their time at the School, both inside and outside the classroom, and their outstanding results today are richly deserved. The breadth of their destinations is a fitting testament to all they have achieved and the aspirations they hold for the future. Success like this does not happen by chance and is only one part of their story. I join their families, teachers and our whole community in wholeheartedly congratulating each and every one of the students, both on their results and, importantly, on the positive attitude, determination and fun that they bring to all that they do. They leave St Helen’s as capable, engaging and confident young women, ready for all that lies ahead. We look forward to hearing about their many exciting adventures to come.”
