SHSK Society: Staying Connected |
SHSK Society - Staying Connected |
St Kate’s Day will be a little different this year but now more than ever we want our Old Girls to be able to share in this special day and be part of the celebrations.
In these difficult times we want to focus this year on the 'theme of hope' and will be inviting our Old Girls to share their messages of hope with our community as a way of inspiring, reassuring and staying connected with the school and each other.
We’re thinking especially of our younger generation of alumnae who are having a tougher time than most as they face periods of self-isolation and educational and career uncertainty, just as much as our older alumnae who often face loneliness and isolation of a different kind. Indeed, what we all need right now, are messages of hope to help us see beyond the challenges that face us right now.
Share your 'messages of hope'
We would like to ask our alumnae community to share their ‘messages of hope’ with us. These can be your own hopes for the future, or messages of hope to inspire others. Perhaps it’s a piece of music, a poem, a famous quote or a piece of art that fills you with hope- we’d love to know. Below is just an example of how you might send in your message...(SHSK Archivist and Curator, Old Girl Georgina Blackmore, shows us her own personal hope for the festive season!)
Send us a short video clip by email to oldgirls@shsk.org.uk
Send us an email with your message of hope, or listing the piece of poetry, music, art of quote which inspires hope to oldgirls@shsk.org.uk
Post a photo or message using the hashtag #StKatesDay2020 on any of our social media platforms - click on the icons below.
Throughout the day – we’ll be sharing your messages of hope on our social media pages plus snippets of St Kate’s days from yesteryear.
We’ll be posting live and recorded content on our social media platforms and SHSK Society Network throughout the day.
We can’t post out Kit Kats this year and we know you can’t gather with friends but would love, as usual, to know that you’re enjoying your own sweet treats and a cuppa solo, whilst enjoying our live streaming and recorded events. Make sure you add these ‘essential’ items to your shopping list for next week and share your photos with us on the usual channels.
